UGANDA Kick-Boxing Association chairman Swaleh Kakonge has suffered a vote of no confidence.

An extra-ordinary assembly convened at National Council of Sports (NCS) headquarters at Lugogo on February 11 overwhelmingly voted Kakonge out, citing poor running of the association.

“It was resolved that Kakonge shall no longer head the association after a lot of complaints from all members, including those on his executive committee. He has mismanaged his office and he’s incompetent,” said a strongly worded statement issued on Wednesday.

Interim chairman Hassan Sekirime, his vice Ivan Ssali and secretary Eddie Gombya signed the statement that was endorsed by representatives of all clubs.

The interim committee will re-organise elections by March 15.

Kakonge, who was accused of undermining the association’s constitution against the good of the game, could not be reached for comment.
