By Norman Katende MOSES Aliwa will be fighting to prove that he still deserves a place on the national team when he takes part in the Jan Meda Cross Country championship in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia tomorrow.

The technical team meets next week to name the national team and coach to the World Cross Country championships due April 1-2 in Fokouka, Japan.

Aliwa, who has always proved good in local competitions, is yet to click on the international scene and the local athletics federation believes that the competition will help him, and five other runners gain international exposure.

“We want to test them before naming the national team. We are fine-tuning them and giving them the exposure they need,” said publicity secretary Namayo Mawerere.

Aliwa will be joined by Samuel Kosgei and James Kibet in the men 12km race, while the juniors include Nicholas Kwemoi, Steven Kiprotich and Benjamin Kiplagat.

Meanwhile, Moses Kipsiro could start his indoor build up on Sunday if he gets chance to compete in the Moscow indoor championship event.
