THE Iranian ambassador, Aboutalebi Morteza, has condemned the recent attacks on Prophet Muhammed, saying no religion deserves to be scorned.
Morteza said this at celebration to mark the Iranian Islamic revolution day at Hotel Africana in Kampala on Wednesday.

“Insulting, dishonoring and inciting other’s sentiments and beliefs is not compatible with freedom, wisdom and democracy,” Morteza said.

He was reacting to the recently published cartoon in the foreign press depicting Prophet Muhammed as a terrorist.

Morteza commended the good relations between Uganda and Iran, saying it had increased investment in the country.

He was optimistic that Iranian companies would increase investment in the country, especially with the opening of a Ugandan trade centre in Tehran.

He said industry, agriculture, nuclear technology advancement were essential for development.
