Why can’t we access our masts?

SIR – Since Election Day last week, many media houses that have their broadcasting equipment on Kololo Hill have been barred from accessing the hill, yet our staff, especially technicians, have to supervise the performance and well-being of the transmission equipment.

Whenever we approach the quarter guard at Kololo we are told there are orders from higher authorities not to let anybody in. When we ask for these higher authorities, we are not given any answer.

I appeal to the Broadcasting Council, Uganda Communications Commission and the other concerned “higher authorities” to prevail over the situation and give us access to the hill so we can resume our normal transmission, especially for stations like TOP TV which is currently off air due to this inconvenience. Needless to say, we have lost a lot of business because of this shortcoming.
