SHELL will sell nine of its petrol stations that are no longer delivering optimum volumes, the country chairman, Ivan Kyayonka (right), has said.
Citing stations put up in the 1960s, Kyayonka said, “The stations can no longer deliver either because of change in traffic patterns or demographic changes.”
The stations to be sold through public bidding are Shell Malindi stations in Lyantonde, Luweero, Zana, Ibanda and Mityana.
Others are Shell Sironko, Shell Adjumani, Shell Kabwohe, Shell Kibibi and land at Bududa.
He said the stations would be sold with the property.
A notice in the media this week invited bids from prospective buyers by March 27.
However, the property is under lease and most of the leases expire in 2012.
