The new bus terminal in Cooper Complex will be allowed to operate if bus owners stick to the timetables, Kampala City Council’s (KCC) spokesman has said.

Simon Muhumuza said this on Tuesday after confirming that the owner of Cooper Complex, which is between the Old Taxi Park and St. Balikuddembe Market, had volunteered space for a bus park.

“The owner has said 40 buses can park there. KCC is waiting to see his proposal especially how the buses can move in and out, then we can say something about it,” Muhumuza said.

“What is important is for the buses to load on schedule and move out. There is no need for them to stay there all day. They should be in garages until it is time for loading,” he said.

Muhumuza said the Police could enforce the timetables.
