MEDICAL and Health Professional Students from Makerere, Mbarara and Gulu universities have appealed to President Yoweri Museveni to old responsible those implicated in the Global Fund mess.

Under their organisation, Students for Equity in Health Care (SEHC), they wrote “Uganda has some of the worst health indicators in the world with a life expectancy of only 49 years and over 65,000 people on ARVs and an HIV prevalence rate that has stagnated at around 6% for almost a decade.”

In the letter they also copied to the Chairperson Parliamentary Committee on Social Services, ministers of Education, Health and Finance, they demanded that the Government increases funding to public health schools by 25% over the next five years to strengthen the training of health personnel.
