BOMBO town council has got a sh2b piped water project, writes Patrick Jaramogi.

State minister for water Maria Mutagamba on Friday commissioned the project that was funded by the government.

The scheme, under the support to small towns water and sanitation project, will benefit the over 30,000 town dwellers, Wobulenzi town council and Luweero district.

Mutagamba, who hailed the residents for their patience after 30 years without tap water, said, “We want to see more people getting clean and safe water. We want to see women trekking shorter distances in search for water.”

The acting director of water development, Eng. Dominique Kavutse, said the Bombo Town Council water scheme can produce 400 cubic meters of water per day.

Mutagamba urged the residents to use the water as a source of revenue.
