UGANDA Breweries Limited under its Bell Lager brand unveiled a sponsorship package of sh190m to help rugby development in Uganda for the 2006/2007 season.

Bell brand manager Oscar Mulira handed over a cheque to the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) president Andrew Owiny at Kampala Rugby Football Club yesterday.

“Bell is proud to have been associated with the rugby union for the last decade. We promise support in their goal to reach greater heights,” Mulira said.

Uganda is preparing for the second round of the International Rugby Board (IRB) 2007 World Cup qualifiers that start next month. The rugby Cranes take on Morocco and Ivory Coast in a bid to make it to the Paris finals.

“The continued and improved sponsorship from Bell has made Uganda rugby what it is today and the union is proud,” Owiny said.
