JIMMY Adar on Saturday fell to Simon Ayiekho for the second time at a national event in less than two months.

The Akii Bua SS student lost the 1500m national junior crown to KIU’s Ayiekho, who out-sprinted him to the finishing line at Ndejje grounds. Ayiekho also beat him at the same event during the national trials in Soroti last month.

Adar, one of Uganda’s representatives at the Commonwealth Games capped a bad day by losing to Gombe’s Abraham Chepkuriok in his favourite 800m.
Standard High outlined their dominance in long distances by taking the top accolades in the men and women races with Benson Cheboriot (10000m), Benjamin Kiplagat (5000m) and Nancy Chepkwemoi (5000m) winning their respective events.

“It’s holiday time and the turn up was not that much but the competition was okay,” UAF’s Namayo Mawerere said.
