Back in the United States, an American Marine is comparable to a rank and file UPDF soldier. However, when the Marines (or beef cakes as some people refer to them) are in Uganda, they assume an air of being above everybody else, simply because they are Marines, have American accents and tend to be beefy.

Last Friday, they took their airs of arrogance to the Rhino Pub at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel. There, they caused a fracas over who had the right to play pool.

Things got so heated between the Marines and the locals that bouncers were called in. With things threatening to get out of hand, management went to great lengths to clam down everybody.

Patrons drinking in the pub simply could not believe what the Marines got up to.
