UIA wants Luzira Prisons relocated

UGANDA Investment Authority (UIA) has applied to the Uganda Land Commission and the prisons authorities to have Luzira Prisons relocated.

UGANDA Investment Authority (UIA) has applied to the Uganda Land Commission and the prisons authorities to have Luzira Prisons relocated.

“We want to have all the 480 hectares allocated to investors instead of just 63 hectares the prisons authorities gave us,” Dr. Maggie Kigozi, the UIA chief said.

Kigozi was on Friday speaking at the signing of three agreements for consultancy, contract for road construction in the Luzira Industrial Park with an investor in Kampala.

The agreements included one with two consultancy firms M and E Associates and Multiplan Consulting Engineers, a contract for the construction of a six kilometers road and a third one with Plasto-Foam Industries Limited, a company that is to recycle plastics.
