INJURED Deo Tumuhairwe and Eric Butime have been ruled out of the Pirates squad that play champions utl Kobs in the final of the rugby Uganda Cup at Kampala Club ground on Saturday.

Pirates coach Steven Ojambo has recalled Ceasar Bugembe and youngster Drek Muyodi to replace the duo in a ploy to overcome a well-composed Kobs side that notched a 41-10 victory over Hima Impis in the semi-final last Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Kobs camp is brimming with confidence ahead of the tie they hope to win and avenge the defeat they suffered against Pirates in the national league.

“We have a powerful team composed of experienced players and we expect nothing but victory on Saturday,” coach Nathan Wasolo commented.

“Many players are competing for slots and we have a bench of equally good reserves,” Wasolo boasted.

In the forward pack, Wasolo will line up locks Victor Wadia and Scott Olwoch, props Fred Mudola and Bobby Bibagamba alongside hookers Patrick Oguru and Kenneth Mutagamba.

Allan Musoke, Isaac Lutwama, Simon Wakabi and Samuel Lubanga also come in the forward pack.

Wasolo also revealed that UK-based former national player Geoffrey Mabonga, 2005 U-19 Player of the Year Joel Anguyo and South African-based Edrian Bukenya have been drafted in to bolster the side.

The utl-sponsored side will be making their fifth appearance in the final and will be seeking a second consecutive title.
