THE Iteso Paramount Chief, Emorimor Augustine Lemukol Osuban, has said departure from good cultural values is responsible for moral decay and hostilities today.
Osuban was guest of honour at the Cultural Peace Exchange Forum organised by World Vision Tubur Area development programme in Soroti district on Saturday.
“Unless parents bring up children following good cultural values, peace will continue to elude us,” Osuban said.
He said a person who is brought up well could not easily be lured to do wrong.
“I am particularly disturbed by the moral decay among the youth, which can be blamed on the desire to copy different cultures, especially the western ones,” he said.
“The recent murders where about 10 people lost their lives in one month in Soroti could only have been carried out by people with bad upbringing,” he said.
