ICPAU bounces journalists

Although scribes had been invited for the release of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) examination results at Grand Imperial Hotel on Monday, the ushers bounced them! The scribes and ushers exchanged hot words. “Go away, we need an invitation card, not a letter,” said one of the ushers when a journalist presented his letter. The journalist shot back: “You think we are here by mistake or what? Why do you invite us and then play around with us?” ICPAU secretary, Gerard Mbalire Kasanya, had signed the letters inviting the press. Later, the ushers realised their gaff, apologised and let the scribes in. Realising the mess, Kasanya demanded to know why the scribes had been bounced, before he apologised. He got no answer. ICPAU should style up to avoid blunders.
