Uganda has deported three Pakistanis and two Rwandan nationals for immigration offences.
The Pakistanis were deported on Friday because they were suspected of being a security threat.
Adnan Hameed, 26, Aamir Muhammad, 23, and Abdul Shakoor, 27 were convicted on Thursday by Nakawa Court of unlawful presence in the country.
Internal affairs state minister Matia Kasaija said the Pakistanis were suspected to be connected to terrorist groups.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, Kasaija hailed the surveillance of the immigration officials.
Two Rwandans carrying American and Belgian passports were deported last week as they attempted to acquire Ugandan travel documents to travel to Kigali. They had concealed their American and Belgian passports.
“Upon cross-checking with the Rwandan ambassador in Kampala, we asked the two Rwandans to either return to America or Belgium or face prosecution. It is upon their decision that we decided to put them on planes,” Kasaija said.
Another Rwandan national, Robert Twagira, was arrested as he fraudulently attempted to acquire a Ugandan passport.
