A Joint Leadership Forum for ministers and Permanent Secretaries (PSs) opens today at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel, Entebbe.
President Yoweri Museveni is expected to open the three-day forum whose theme is “Harmonisation of the national vision: Building a framework for social and economic transformation from Third to First World”.
A statement by the Deputy Secretary to Cabinet, Opio Lukone, said the forum is intended to clarify roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of ministers, the head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, the deputy and PSs.
It is also meant to promote strategic visioning of the overall government aspirations and development plans, review Cabinet decision-making structures and processes, enhance service delivery and strengthen the partnership between Cabinet and the senior leadership in public service.
It has been organised by the Government in partnership with the Government of Ontario, Canada and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada.
Others expected to attend are the Vice-President, Prime Minister and the Chief of Defence Forces.
