Administrative wrangles among the three traditional giants could however, take the sting out of the pre-window hype.
Presently, no club can match URA FC’s muscle so the champions-in-waiting and financially stable Bunamwaya FC, will claim first pick on most targets, while the rest will feed on the scraps. The window opens on October 23.

URA FC
The tax collectors, who have secured coach Frank ‘Video’ Anyau, intend to blend their vastly experienced side with youthful prospects. SC Villa’s Robert Ssentongo and Hamis Kitagenda rank high up their list.
There also appears to be an opening at URA for pint-sized midfielder Hakim Magumba (2nd right), who became club-less in August when he fell out with Villa.

Express FC
How times change. The Red Eagles, contrary to previous glamourous years of recruitment, could lose three impressive youngsters.
Tony Odur’s move to either Victor or Bunamwaya appears inevitable despite talk of new negotiations. Nicholas Kabali and defender Edward Ssali are the others targeted by Bunamwaya.
KCC FC
Anthony Bongole (1st left), the driving force behind KCC’s attack, may be on his way to Villa after yet another disappointing season.
Villa are said to have offered the aggressive forward a sh0.5m sign on fee, while Bunamwaya are promising to better the pay cheque.
Defender Jamil Kasiita is Bunamwaya’s other target.
The Lugogo-based outfit is, however, desperate to acquiring Simba’s Hamza Muwonge for Paul Musoke, who left for the US.

SC Villa
Just like Express, the Jogoos are more-less close to losing exciting midfielders Jeremiah Sebuyira and Abubaker Muyanja to Bunamwaya.
With Rwanda side ATRACO FC also interested in Tom Ssemwogerere, a players crisis looms.
The 16-time league champions will however be relieved to have Kinyara’s duo of Asuman Buyinza and Nasib Yusuf. Buyinza is expected to replace skipper Samadu Mutumba, who left for the US early this year. Nasib will help resolve the club’s left-back crisis.

KB Lions
Their relegation will certainly decide the exit of several key players and chief among them is Arthur Ssemazzi. The attacking left winger is linked to URA.

Mbale Heroes
Heroes have been linked with Andrew Kalule. With Kampala United relegated, his arrival is certain.

Simba FC
The army side is set to replace goalkeeper Hamza Muwonge following reports that URA and Villa are interested in him.
Simba coach Moses Basena said yesterday that although the club would not be active during the transfers, he had identified a replacement.
A Villa official who did not want to be named said that Muwonge was the target to replace Denis Onyango, who has joined SuperSport FC of South Africa, as soon as election of new office bearers is sorted out.
URA also want to replace veteran custodian Ibrahim Mugisha, who is to take on goalkeeper training role for the tax men.
Basena said that he would identify a keeper among the 18 players under going trials with the club.
“We did not expect Muwonge to leave but as a club of the disciplined people and as long as it is within the regulations, we shall replace him,” Basena said.
