THE Watoto Children’s Choir have done it yet again. Their songs reverberated through the Kampala Pentecostal Church (KPC) auditorium on wednesday as their dance captivated over 500 pastors from Uganda, Africa, Europe, America and Asia who are in Kampala for the Hope for Africa Children’s Conference.

Watoto Child Care Ministries has built three children’s villages housing 1,500 orphaned and abandoned children, a model which the conference will expose to the delegates so that similar villages can be built across Africa.

Pastor Gary Skinner, the founder of Watoto Child Care Ministries, said the problems of Africa can only be solved by the church.

Skinner said the AIDS problem, which is expected to leave over 15 million orphans by 2010, is an opportunity for the church to show people the love of Jesus.

He described the AIDS pandemic as a nuclear bomb that has hit the planet earth.
