Palwo wins
SOCCER-Lira Palwo SS in Agago County piped Akwang SS of Aruu 2-1 in a World Vision Peace Cup match in Pader. Bosco Omolo put Akwang in the lead in the first half before the game turned against them.

Badru back
SOCCER-Former FUFA treasurer Badru Ssentongo is back in the assembly. He was elected together with Saziri Mayanja to represent Kayunga district. Patrick Okanya, who presided over the polls, said the two are fully fledged delegates. Ssentongo promised to develop youth football starting with players who drop out of school.

Akope second
GOLF-Deo Akope finished second in the Kitale Open professional golf tournament that ended at Kitale Club on Monday. The annual event was won by Mumias Sports Club's Dismas Indiza with former Uganda Open champion, David Odhiambo coming in third. Akope secured the position after gross 73, one shot behind Indiza.
