UGANDA Athletics Federation (UAF) has been forced to shift the venue of the national cross-country championship set for February 5 from Entebbe to Ndejje University. This follows failure to access the Entebbe golf course on February 5. “We could not change the day from the weekend,” explained UAF publicity secretary Namayo Mawerere.

Express test
EXPRESS FC will this afternoon play Kenya army soccer side Ulinzi at Wankulukuku as a build up for the super league opening on Saturday. Ulinzi has been here for the East African Military games that concluded on Wednesday. Express will host Simba on Saturday at Wankulukuku.

It’s Ebanyat
KENNETH Ebanyat, who is coming off an ankle injury to enter his senior year at Florida Southern University, is having a pretty good time with his basketball team the Mocs. The Mocs were recently able to hold off the University of Tampa in which Ebanyat made 18 points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.

Event pushed
WALTER Okas will wait a little longer to defend his NRM chess title following the postponement of the event. The eight round swiss event due to have started yesterday will now get underway next Thursday. Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) failed to secure sh7m in time to stage the event which is part of the NRM anniversary festivities.
