Aswa County MP Reagan Okumu has given Pader Woman MP Santa Okot seven days to apologise for alleging that he is a rebel collaborator.

Okumu (left) said he reserved the right to take legal action against Okot.

A notice of intention to sue was served to Okot (right) on Tuesday, Okumu told journalists at Parliament yesterday.

He said defamatory statements were published in The Monitor newspaper of February 15 under the headline ‘Okumu is a rebel collaborator.’

“Okumu has been a rebel collaborator for a long time. He has misled many people to the bush and connived with many rebels including Omuru LC1, who have disappeared to join LRA,” The Monitor quoted Okot as saying.

Okumu said many propagandists were maligning him to “seek favours from the President.”
