KAMWENGE district has introduced stringent measures against headteachers who fail to perform to the set standards.

The chief administrative officer, James Nkata, over the weekend said headteachers would sign contracts whose renewal would depend on performance.

“All those headteachers whose performance will be hanging will not have their contracts renewed,” he warned.

Statistics at the education department indicate that a small percentage of pupils passed the 2004 PLE examinations.
