WATER, lands and environment minister Kahinda Otafiire has urged former army commander Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu and former Movement supporter James Garuga Musinguzi to return to the Movement.
The two defected to the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
Otafiire was on Saturday addressing a fundraising ceremony for two classrooms at Mirama K. Primary School in Kamwenge district. He said the Movement bus had the best driver.
Capt. Charles Byaruhanga, however, said the Movement bus tyres were worn out.
Muntu had earlier told the people that the Movement they started in 1981 and fought for was not the one they saw now. “It has changed completely,” he said, adding that people should learn to separate development issues from politics.
He said the fundraising ceremony was aimed at development, not politics.
“When I contribute, don’t say it’s FDC. It’s Mugisha Muntu. We are not here to buy support but to develop our country,” he said.
Muntu said if all politicians put national interests before their own, there would be no insurgency.
