THE super league will be top on the agenda when the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) normalisation committee rolls into action on Wednesday.

Committee chairman Dr. James Sekajugo said his assignment starts with a meeting with the clubs to discuss what he said was kick-off of the league as soon as possible.

“People are thirsty. Players are redundant. The league should start urgently,” said Sekajugo who will also discuss the national team and the Kakungulu Cup.

Players were planning a demonstration because of the delayed kick-off of the league.

The league has been delayed by close to three months by squabbles in the soccer fraternity that were only ironed out last week after FIFA’s intervention.

Uganda resumes its World Cup/Nations Cup qualifiers on June 3 with an away encounter against DR Congo.

Sekajugo however said that before the big issues are tackled the committee will have to sort out the FUFA House.

“I do not only have to ensure that the premises are neat, phones and faxes are functional but that each of the committees have an office,” explained Sekajugo.

The Mengo offices have not been in use since February when government suspended Dennis Obua’s executive for abuse of office.

Matters worsened when court brokers attached most of FUFA’s property from the building.

The committee will be in office until December 31 during which period they not only have to review the FUFA constitution, but also organise elections.
