A Sh800M extension scheme will be carried out by the National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (NWSC) Masaka branch, writes Eddie Ssejjoba.
The scheme will cover 18 kilometers from Nyendo town to Katigondo Seminary and its surroundings.
NWSC’s area manager Joel Wandera said this while commissioning the project at Nyendo in Masaka recently.
Wandera said the money for the project had been raised from their resources and savings.
He said the project would be completed in six months.
Wandera said the first phase would cost at least sh500m.
The project targets one of the biggest concentrations of settlements with about 14 education institutions like Katigondo and Bukalasa seminaries, Villa Maria Hospital, the Catholic parish, Bwanda Convent plus primary, secondary and vocational institutions.
