THE Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) Entebbe has started a campaign to promote the use of vermiculite to boost production of horticultural crops.
Vermiculite is a non-metallic, clay-class mineral fertiliser with ammonium, potassium, calcium and magnesium which improve soil aeration while retaining the moisture and nutrients necessary for feeding the plant for faster growth.
