Kabubi’s take on fashion

IT was a little of everything. From the little known new girl on the fashion scene, Betty Kabubi, to the stage for the catwalk in the Silk Lounge. It was the launch of a new fashion label, Little red boutique.

The designer, from the UK, did not disappoint. From the office wear, which comprises suits, it was clear there was something different in town. Kabubi’s eloquence only gave her models more catwalk flare.
Like the office wear category, the casual wear and evening wear were as elegant.

Disturbingly, she did not showcase any gents clothes. But to many this only made it sensual. Kabubi, herself as MC, offered a little advice here and there. Guys? That’s what your ladies should look like. And the married men were heard sulking for having taken the vows earlier. Then to the ladies, “fashion is always in the head” and telling the models to “show them what your mama gave you.” The fabrics were mainly silk and cotton.

The models, most of whom were a little above the average height and of fair weight and complexion, just looked like the girl next door. Little red boutique will open on August 1, at Charms towers (former UCB building).
