<b>$15m food to be procured<br>KAMPALA</b> – One hundred thousand tonnes of cereals worth $15m (sh26.8b) will be bought by Uganda Grain Traders, the managing director, Migdad Saad, has said.

KAMPALA
– One hundred thousand tonnes of cereals worth $15m (sh26.8b) will be bought by Uganda Grain Traders, the managing director, Migdad Saad, has said. Saad said this during an interview at Hotel Africana on Wednesday. “We can buy beans, maize and rice. However, the Government should set up food reserves to cater for shortages,” he said.

Sh4b to boost fish farming
KAMPALA
– US-based Auburn University has been awarded a $2.5m (sh4b) federal grant to boost commercial fish farming in Uganda. The 40-month project, funded by the US Agency for International Development will send a team from Auburn’s Department of Fisheries to Uganda, Bill Daniels, a professor at the university, said recently.
