There’s something about hurdles, gold medals and Ugandan athletes.

It all started with John Akii-Bua’s historic 400m hurdles run at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

The lean police officer from the Lango plains stunned everyone with a gold medal won with the first ever sub 48 seconds in the one-lap race.

Inzikuru, born 10 years after Akii-Bua’s epic run, has also sparkled in the hurdles, though this time in a longer race.
