ABOUT 50 opposition MPs who rejected the removal of the presidential terms have planned a rally in Rukungiri town on August 19 to explain their position.
District FDC chairperson Ingrid Turinawe said the rally is aimed at explaining that the removal of terms is meant to entrench president Museveni into life-presidency.
The rally will be addressed by FDC acting chairperson Salaamu Musumba and national mobiliser Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu.

ELIJAH Kagoda Dhikus-ooka has been sworn-in as the interim LC5 chairman of the newly-created Kaliro district.
Kagoda, who lost the Kamuli LC5 by-election to Aggrey Bangu last year, got five votes against his sole rival Sam Mutono’s four votes in the Thursday elections.

Kaloli vows

KIRA town council Democratic Party (DP) chairman Kaloli Kiwanuka has declared his intensions to stand for Kyaddondo East constituency next year.
Kiwanuka revealed this at a DP rally at Kireka rehabilitation centre in Wakiso district on Saturday.
He said DP was sure he would do a good job.
