REIGNING African champion Munna Singh needs only three points to retain his title but the Zambian is leaving nothing to chance ahead of the Pearl of Africa Uganda rally due September 9-11.

Munna who dropped out of the Mountain Gorilla rally last weekend has started gathering crucial information about the rally that will be concentrated in an unfamiliar Luwero district.

“Munna sent me an e-mail inquiring about the details of the rally,” clerk of course Stephen Byaruhanga said yesterday.

The Zambian who will be making a second outing in Uganda will face off with Africa championship contender Riyaz Kurji for the title.

Kurji who is eight points behind Munna (28 points) needs to win the home event and hope that Munna does not score more than two points.

The rally that was launched early this week will start with a super special stage at Lubiri circuit on September 11 before the second and third legs that will be concentrated in Luwero.

Speke Resort, Alpha Dairy Products, WBS, Spear Motors, Fire Masters and Packaging Technologies are sponsors of the rally.
