OVER 13,000 secondary school students from the central region have signed the True Love Waits cards as a commitment to abstaining from sex until marriage, reports Patrick Jaramogi.
The Family Life Network (FLN), an NGO that advocates the restoration of family values and morals, conducted the registration in the districts of Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso for five months.
The FLN executive director, Stephen Langa, said during a sensitisation workshop on family relations at Grand Imperial Hotel on Monday that out of the 27,310 students talked to in 199 secondary schools, 13,358 students committed themselves to abstaining from sex.
He said pornography was still the main cause of moral degeneration in the country.
“Pornography is spreading like bush fire. The vice has infested our schools, work places and homes,” he said.
