Hotel owners have appealed to government to reduce the television tax. The Hotel Owners Association chairman, Ibrahim Kibirige, said sh20,000 is a lot of tax for each television set.
He said big hotels have more than 40 TV sets and the tax would reduce their profits. The tax payment deadline is September 15.
