Hotel owners have appealed to government to reduce the television tax. The Hotel Owners Association chairman, Ibrahim Kibirige, said sh20,000 is a lot of tax for each television set.
He said big hotels have more than 40 TV sets and the tax would reduce their profits. The tax payment deadline is September 15.

State minister for primary education has hailed Solar Energy for Africa in distributing of power in rural areas. Nyombi Tembo was opening a two-week training workshop organised by the solar firm at Nakawa Vocational training centre on Monday.

AFRICA Management Forum, a network of chief executive officers (CEOs) and business leaders will meet in Kampala in November to share business experiences and generate solutions to challenges facing businesses, with speakers from Britain, US and Africa.
