The former Minister of State for privatisation Manzi tumubweine and three others were on Sunday seriously injured when his car had a head-on collision with a bus.

The Masaka district traffic officer, Jessica Kabasindi, said the accident occurred at about 11:00am at Muchomo on the Masaka-Mbarara highway when a BTC company coach UAE 661L tried to overtake two vehicles at a bend.

She said the Kabale-bound speeding coach hit Tumubweine’s Toyota Land Cruiser and a trailer that was following it.

Kabasindi said tumubweine sustained a cut on the forehead, while his driver Adinandi Kakulu and his mother Hajati Busingye of Kamwezi in Kabale district sustained serious injuries and were taken to Kitovu Hospital.

Tumubweine’s daughter, Peace Musimenta, escaped unhurt.
Earlier this year, Tumubweine lost a daughter in a car crash on Entebbe Road.
