UGANDA Olympic Committee (UOC) president Maj. Gen. Francis Nyangweso has warned that qualification alone won’t grant any one a slot on the Commonwealth Games team.

“It is not that when one qualifies, he is automatically put on the team. We have a criteria we will use in naming the athletes to represent the country. Qualification is one of them but there are so many things,” said Nyangweso. The games will take place next year in Melbourne, Australia.

He said that discipline will be paramount and one’s commitment to represent the country.
“We will not have people who do things that are not good for Uganda’s image,” explained Nyangweso.

Already Jolly Katongole, who disappeared in Athens after the Olympic Games, has been spiked from the boxing team.
