TB’s wedding tribulations

TIMOTHY Bukumunhe’s wedding to Patricia Okoed of Capital Radio last Saturday at Munyonyo might have lasted only five hours but for TB, it looked like forever! He urgently wanted to puff away at a cigarette. At the Victoria Ball Room, where the reception was held, Timothy, New Vision’s society editor, shifted in his seat with unease.

TB’s chance came when he and wife Patricia had to go change clothes. He tactfully cornered Patrick Oyulu (of Saatchi & Saatchi) and implored him to quickly find him a cigarette!

“It is the longest time I have spent without having a puff,” he confessed. His wish was granted. Best man Elvis Ssekyanzi, who was obviously not very keen on the whole idea, allowed TB ‘only two pulls’. After that, it was all smiles for the groom. Tut tut Tut!

  • Ivan Koreta, the incurable romantic

  • It is said that weddings tend to bring out the romance in the most sceptical and hard-hearted of us. Still, a married middle-aged couple merrily strolling hand in hand is not exactly a common sight. Well, Lt. Gen. Ivan Koreta flouted the custom when he walked into Speke Resort, Munyonyo, hand firmly entwined in his wife Agnes’. For a middle-aged army officer, he was definitely the romantic hero of the evening.

  • Patrick Oyulu fears for baby

  • Patrick Oyulu (OPP) of Saatchi & Saatchi, is better known to cronies as a care-free dude; but not when it involves his baby.

Oyulu, a member of TB’s wedding organising committee, almost jumped out of his skin when his pregnant fiancée, Chi chi, resorted to rigorous dance routines at the reception.

Watching her twist, twirl, jump and gyrate, he was so alarmed, he rushed to her and gently examined her tummy with his hands, whispering “ I hope the baby is OK.”

He never left her side again, keeping an eye as he gently danced.
