He said if the central government met the expenses, this would greatly improve the councillors’ allowances.
“Our prayer is that the central government funds us from the consolidated fund. The 20% for council expenditure out of the budget is quite small and very inadequate to remunerate the district chairpersons, speakers and councillors,†Kyeyune said.
He was on Wednesday addressing leaders at the district head offices.
