STATE minister for sports Henry Okello Oryem has promised to include health awareness messages at all sporting events in the country.
Under the policy all sports federations and associations will be compelled to disseminate HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Measles preventive messages at all sporting competitions.
He said that the messages would be carried at the beginning, halftime and the end of every sports event throughout the country.
“Because everybody in this country plays at least a game we can ably fight HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases through sport therefore all the federations will have to carry out some preventive messages on AIDS, Malaria, Measles and other infections†Oryem said.
He was opening a three-day training session for sports administrators and players of different disciplines at Lugogo clubhouse on Monday.
