USE’s all share index gains

Uganda Securities Exchange (use) all share index gained by 4.90% to 371.05 points in the week to Thursday compared to 348.32 last Thursday

Uganda Securities Exchange (use) all share index gained by 4.90% to 371.05 points in the week to Thursday compared to 348.32 last Thursday.
This was due to an increase in share prices on some counters, an official from USE revealed.

There was also a gain in the total market capitalisation to sh1,484b from sh 1,324.3b last Thursday.
Trading on Tuesday this week registered a share index of 353.70 points and a turnover of sh400,000 in which 50 Uganda Clays Limited’s (UCL) shares were traded.

Yesterday’s session recorded a turnover of sh99,000 after 150 Bank of Baroda shares were traded at sh660 each.
A British American Tobacco Uganda share was offered at sh1,170, while UCL offered each share at sh8,000.
East African Brewerires Limited offered its shares at sh11,594 while Kenya Airways offered theirs at sh286.

No activity was recorded on the bond counters which comprise Government and corporate bonds.
UCL announced a final dividend of sh200 per share to be paid to shareholders on July 30.
