THE Government has unveiled a plan to fund big investments to accelerate development in northern Uganda.
State minister for northern Uganda Grace Akello (above) said on Sunday at the closing of a workshop for northern district leaders in Jinja. She said the funding would supplement the sh200b northern Uganda social action fund (NUSAF) projects.
She said multi-community projects, which cannot access NUSAF funds, would be funded under the new initiative.
Akello hailed NUSAF for setting up results oriented strategies as a means of alleviating poverty from the war-ravaged region.
She said people of northern Uganda were to blame if they did not use the available funds to fight poverty.
