Vice-President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya will on Sunday launch preparations for the celebrations to mark St. Mary’s College, Kisubi (SMACK)’s century anniversary at Nabinoonya Beach.
SMACK Old Boys Association president Dr. George Mayanja told a press conference at Spear House recently, that the the celebrations would start with a holy mass led by Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala at 9:30am.

Anti-drug bill

The Anti-Narcotics Unit head, Fabian Amadia, has said an anti-drug Bill would soon be tabled in Parliament.
He was speaking ahead of tomorrow’s International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Two killed

A suspected burglar was on Tuesday gunned down in a city suburb as he fled with a hose pipe after breaking into the Kampala Golf Club.
The Police said a Police patrol that rushed to the scene in response to a distress call after midnight shot the man.
Meanwhile, a mob reportedly lynched a suspected criminal in Nansana’s Ochieng zone.

Defiler jailed

High Court judge Justice Julia Ssebutinde yesterday sentenced Charles Sikyomu to seven years in jail for defiling a 16-year-old girl.
Sikyomu defiled her at Manywa, Kapeka sub-county in Wakiso district last December.
