PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni is expected to be chief guest at this year’s World Food Day national celebrations in Kasese district on Oct 16. The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries, David Obong, said on Friday the function would take place at Ibanda Primary School, Bugoye sub-county.

Team visiting

The 6-member team set up to study the formation of the East African Federation will visit Uganda on October 11 to get the public’s views on the matter.
They will also hold discussions with the executive, Parliament, religious, civic and traditional leaders and the media.

About 19 Kenyan companies will exhibit products at this year’s Uganda International Trade Fair starting on October 5.
Making the announcement on Friday, export promotion council chief Matanda Wabuyele said the week-long fair would feature, among other products, foodstuffs, textiles, plastics and agricultural produce.
