TORNADO CC secured a second straight Castle Lager national cricket league title after trouncing Wanderers CC by 111 runs yesterday.

The champions finished seven points clear of second placed Maruti (51) who can only accumulate a maximum 56 points if they win their last tie of the league against Africa CC next Sunday.

Mid-order batsman Nehal Bibodi rediscovered his form with a flawless 92 runs that included seven boundaries to give Tornado the victory that sealed the championship.

Opener Michael Ndiko (45) and Bibodi steered the ship in the right direction as Frank Nsubuga chipped in with a quick 44 runs.

A 44-run partnership from tail enders Jonathan Sebanja and new signing Andrew Maclean was too little too late to boost Wanderers chase of a 261 run target.

At Entebbe oval, man-of-the-match Kenneth Kamyuka hit a classy 92 off 126 balls and picked four wickets for 18 to propel Tornado B.
Tornado B greatly benefited from the services of Kenya World Cup star Peter Ongondo who knocked 46 runs and picked three wickets.
