THE London College of St Lawrence and Kitante Hill School have emerged winners of the Uganda Debt Network (UDN) anti-corruption inter-schools debating competition.

London College came top with 68.7 marks followed by Kitante with 66.6 marks.

Other competitors were Greenhill Academy 66.5, Gayaza High School 64, and Makerere College 63.

Presiding at the competition’s awards ceremony at London College recently, the director for ethics and integrity in the Office of the President, Ashaba Aheebwa, said co-curricular activities were the foundation of the students’ future leadership roles.

“The time you are spending in scouting, debating, drama and other co-curricular activities is not wasted. That experience will come in handy when you are confronted with a leadership role in future,” said Ashaba Aheebwa.

Uganda Debt Network senior communications and media adviser Mukotani Rukundo said students could be very instrumental in the fight against corruption.
