MUKONO — Compassion International, an NGO, has given a donation worth sh5m to 300 needy children under the care of Seeta Church Of Uganda in Mukono Diocese. project director Mariam Mugenyi handed over the items, including clothing, bedding and scholastic materials, during the children’s Christmas party at Seeta primary school on Wednesday.

MASAKA — A sh190m European Union-funded road rehabilitation project in Kyazanga, Bukoto West constituency, has been launched. The LC5 chairman, Vincent Ssempijja, launched the 12km Kitoro-Katuro road on December 22. He said the road, contracted to WAKO Technical Services, would boost economic activities in the area.

Man charged
KAMPALA — A motorcycle owner was on Tuesday charged with permitting the use of his motorcycle by a person who did not have a permit. Issa Bukenya, 18, of Kiwatule denied the charge before Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Emmanuel Baguma.
