The money was provided by the Environmental Conservation Trust of Uganda, funded by the United States Agency for International Development.Benson Turamye, the Trust’s coordinator in Masindi, told the district budget conference on Thursday that at least sh40m would be provided for each of the 28 organisations. “We expected 28 project proposals by now but we have only received six, yet this money is meant for projects in Masindi,” Turamye said.The annual budget conference held at Kolping House attracted the district and sub-county councils, NGO representatives and opinion leaders in the district.Presiding over the opening ceremony, the district council chairman, John Majara, commended civil servants for successfully implementing government priority programmes.Facilitators at the budget conference included the deputy district Chief Administrative Officer, Milton Kato, the district agriculture extension coordinator, Blasto Byabakama, and the acting district engineer, Godfrey Bihemaiso.
