Express should pump sense into Mukasa!

SIR— It is disappointing that Express FC did not take any disciplinary action on striker Andrew Mukasa for stubbornly refusing to travel to Egypt with his team-mates recently. Express was painfully eliminated on penalties; but to every one’s disbelief, no action whatever was taken on Mukasa’s costly indiscipline. Apparently, Mukasa is relapsing into his old behaviour that eventually led to his being kicked out of SC Villa last year. Whereas he is undoubtedly a talented player, Mukasa’s childish behaviour is unacceptable, and only the firm rod of chastisement will make him grow up. There are many more talented and very expensive world class players like Figo, Zidane, Owen, Ronaldo and others; but still, they are also some of the most disciplined players on their teams. Make Mukasa see that soccer demands maturity, sanity, team work, discipline and respect for team-mates and officials. Peter NyanziMakerere University
