Jinja mayor ‘resigns’ on April 1

A woman only identified as Aisha, a resident of Magwa Zone, cried on hearing a radio message to the effect that the Mayor of Jinja, Mr. David Wakudumira, had stood down and fresh elections were under way.Aisha, who resides near the Mayor’s residence, on hearing the message, burst into tears saying “This is a real betrayal to people who supportedhim.”Meddie, a local artist who recently landed a job at Busoga FM, was the presenter of the morning programme which uttered these shocking remarks that caused tension among many in the municipality.People returned to their senses when a man who was walking by a Caltex petrol station rebuked the aired message and said “Today is ‘foolish’ day.”ends
