Employment opportunityVacancy: National Co-ordinatorForum for Education NGOs in Uganda (FENU) is a voluntary coalition of education NGOs, CBOs, education institutions and other education stakeholders. It was launched in March 2001 to provide a medium for NGOs to network and advocate for quality education policy and practice with the Ministry of Education and Sports. FENU would like to recruit a dynamic, energetic and self-motivated person with particular interest in Education to fill the position of National Co-ordinator. He/She will be based in Kampala but with frequent travels to the districts.The duties of the National Co-ordinator will include:ü Steering FENU day-to-day activities plus heading the secretariat and supervising the junior staff.ü Liaising with high-level government officials and donors on policy and advocacy issues.ü Coordinating with the local governments and districts to oversee FENU committees to steer district-based activities.ü Supervising district resource centersü Networking with the member organizations and coordinate resource mobilization activities. Represent FENU in both national and international fora. Preparation of reports and other project documents.Qualifications:ü Degree in Education or Social Sciences plus related field and experience with non-formal and informal education. A Post Graduate Degree will be an added advantage.ü Minimum of 10 years working with the Education Sector or NGOs with at least 3 years in a position of high responsibility.ü Experience in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.ü Excellent writing, lobbying, and communication skillsü Highly proven analytical skills and ability to work under minimum supervision.ü Modern computer skills and knowledge in data managementü Experience in financial and personnel administrationEligible candidates should submit their applications with detailed CVs giving three references to the following address not later than 19th April 2002.
